The PMU farms in Canada often have several 'heard stallions'
of various mixed or pure breeding. Buster was one of the most
popular as he was a small Belgian cross, about 15.3 hands, was
easy to manage for the smaller mares, and threw nice colts. Our
own Indigo is one of the last Colts Buster sired. Artist member
Yvonne Davey has generously donated her sculpture of Buster to
the project and he is cast by our sister-site, Resins by Randy.
This beautiful likeness of Buster is solid cast in white artists
quality resin and measures 9" tall and 9 1/2" long.
This is a 'close-out', so there will only be approx 25 pieces
of this beautiful stallion availale. Buster costs $100. for an unpainted cast. Shipping is $12. inside the US. $50. of your purchase will be donated to buying feed and supplies for our rescues. | A herd stallion on a PMU farm can have a pretty idyllic life. They are usually gentle though often unbroken, and do nothing but pasture breed mares throughout their productive lives. A dangerous or unmanageable stallion is usually sent to slaughter. But when the PMU farms began closing down, even the 'good' stallions were in a predicament. Who would want an older, untrained, mixed breed stallion? Buster was one of the lucky guys who got adopted by the Ward family in Wyoming. They report that he is doing well and is a sweet and gentle stallion. Here's a picture of Indigo, one of his last beautiful colts. | ||||
